Solvay Tigers Little League Takes the safety of our participants very seriously. In 1995, Little League Baseball introduced A Safety Awareness Program (ASAP) with the goal of re-emphasizing the position of a Safety Officer to “create awareness, through education and information, of the opportunities to provide a safer environment for kids and all participants of Little League Baseball”. This program has been very successful by dramatically decreasing little league baseball related injuries. This safety plan is qualified by the ASAP program.
ASAP is a grass roots program based on communication of ideas. Leagues across the country contribute their safety ideas to ASAP News, a colorful, monthly newsletter. Safety officers can then find out what their peers are doing to make things "safer for the kids." Our Safety Officer re certifies our ASAP program every year to ensure all our participant's safety and, in the event of an unforeseen accident, are also prepared to act to ensure proper care.
In addition, Solvay Tigers Little League is committed to following all requirements from Both Little League International and New Your State. All of our volunteers will take Abuse Awareness training, and all Coaches will also be trained in Concussion Awareness Protocol. There is Concussion Awareness link below that has information for coaches players and parents
Solvay Tigers Little League remains committed to the safety of our children and will continue to strive to usure that we provide a safe, fun and enriching program for our community
